What fandoms do you write for, if you write?

I haven't written much fanfiction at all.. and when I have it's with original characters. I like to read it, if I'm in the right mood.. I just never really sat down and decided to write a fanfic. here's one (with original characters) that I'm co-authoring with Tiffany.. it's posted up to chapter fourteen, but it hasn't been thoroughly edited/flushed out yet, it's just kind of to feel out the response and see if we need to change stuff or whatever. www.fanfiction.net/s/3078677/1/Lots of random things. Buffy characters, My Chemical Romance members, original characters.. other cameo characters. it's funny.. or so the few reviewers we have say.

I barely ever write fanfiction, but I enjoy reading it. For some reason I mainly read Harry Potter, I'm not quite sure why. Luckily there's an abundance of it at fanfiction.net!

Lol, the only thing I don't like about ff.net is that you have to plough through hundrds of fics to find the good ones. I usually go there via links only, and use Google to find rec lists of fics.

I only really read fanfics suggested by my friends, for that reason.

But on ff.net you can search with those little drop down box thingys.

Yeah, but there are gazillions of fics. If you are not looking for a specific fic, I personally find it very hard to find something very good.

Ok, this may be a silly question, but what is fanfiction?

Not a silly question at all. A fan fiction is a work, either short or long, written by a fan of a book (or a movie?...) as a ficticious sequel/prequel to the work. Take, for example, a Harry Potter fan fiction. It might be about Harry's seventh year, or it might be about Lily and James and the Marauders when they were at Hogwarts. Or it might be about what happens to a minor character.

Or even a TV show. Yes, I am not the biggest fan of fan fiction; there is so little GOOD fan fiction (not to sound negative, because writing ff is very difficult, I'm sure) that it is hard to find any.

Lol. Oh yeah, same here... I hate reading (and even more - letting others read) my old stuff, I just get so embarassed. Then again, I never let anyone I know read my 'sex fictions'.

Yeah, I used to hate fan fiction, and now I think its okay, but I almost never read it, unless I am pretty bored. Some of the stuff I have read, I can't see why the person would want to post it on the internet, its so bad. All of the stuff I have read here is well-written, which is heartening. There are a few good fan fics on mugglenet. though!
