Hey, I got this little procrastination device sent to me by a friend, and I thought you guys might appreciate it.
"Ok, so what you're gonna do is write a poem...with the lines written by the people on your iPod. All you have to do is put your iPod on shuffle, and listen to the first line of the first song that plays. That's the title of your poem. The first lines of the next twenty-nine songs become the subsequent lines of your poem, and then finish it off with the same lyrics you used for the title. Punctuate it however you want...see if you can make us think it makes sense."
Here's the one I made:
"The World Collapsed Early Sunday Morning"
In your arms,
Take your fear, write on your silence.
Here comes the rain again:
My secret.
We don't seem to see eye to eye.
One day more!
The way I see it,
Life's like this.
One too many times, I fell over you:
You're so complicated.
5:15 AM, snow laying all around...
Please don't be long;
I think we're going somewhere.
We met as soulmates,
Ain't it foggy outside?
Will you ever come again?
You said, "Why does everything revolve around you?"
You'll hear me calling in your sweet dream,
When your father pulls up in a Mercedes Benz.
What's the time?
This ain't no place for losers.
It's not time to make a change;
All I want is something good.
I must look a mess.
Reach out, touch faith;
Head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure.
So if you're lonely, you know I'm here waiting for you:
It don't matter to me.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
The world collapsed early Sunday morning.
(Weirdly parallels my breakup last month... o.0)
