The first ever Romance I had probably ever read and it encouraged me to read more and more Romances like Catherine Cooksons and Daphne Du Mauriers. After a while the genre can get a bit repetitive, that's why I think of stories that are historical but I like to make them controversial aswell so it makes the stories more interesting than girl meets love of her life.

I haven't read I Capture The Castle, but I have read some of Dodie Smith's other books. I generally don't read much romance, but I think that's because of bad experiences.

I relished reading this book. Despite the time period, I found myself easily able to relate to the main character. The part with the bear was terribly hilarious.

I loved this book so much, and thought the first two thirds of it was genious and beautifully written, but for some reason I thought it wasn't as good at all towrads the end. did anyone else feel that way? It made me want to start journaling so bad! I have tried now and then, but I am terrible at following through with things...

Honestly, I thought that the ending was the best. The first third was pretty boring. You so should start a journal! Do you have any idea how much fun it is to look back at them? Terribly funny!

I so agree! I love looking back at my old diaries, it sometimes makes me cringe and think "Why did I ever write that?", but it's great fun.
