I've never read it, but I think the book Life of Pi by Yann Martel is about a teenage boy and something about a shipwreck...anyway, the cover of the book is him and a tiger, and in the summaries I've read it talks about a bengal tiger. My sister read it, and I think she really enjoyed it, so i would give it a try if I were you. Have you ever read any Jack London books? he has a few about wolves. White Fang and The Call of the Wild are pretty good books. I didn't enjoy them as much because I am not a big animal book person, but I bet anyone who liked that sort of thing would like those books.

My friend just returned my copy of 'Life of Pi' after having borrowed it for four months. ugh! I'm going to read it soon, but I've also heard good things about it.
My favorite book about wolves is 'The Sight' by David Clement-Davies. It is truly an amazing book.
Of course, both of these are fiction, but might give you some insight.
