For History, I need to find a book either fiction/non-fiction relating to U.S. history. It can be anything really, like 'My Antonia' or 'The Grapes of Wrath.' Any ideas?

I'd recommend 'The Grapes of Wrath', if you're allowed to do that, because it's well written and deals with a good part of history. Otherwise read something by Paul Johnson, perhaps 'A History of the American People', his books are exceptionally well researched and intelligently written.

Well, the only book I ever really read about U. S. history is Killer Angels. I liked well enough, but maybe it's not what you're looking for. It's all about Gettysburg.

I'll have to think about those. A lot of people are doing 'To Kill A Mockingbird' but I'm not so sure if I want to. I want to read it sometime, but it will probably be difficult to obtain at the library.
