I am absolutely in love with the sonnet when Romeo & Juliet first meet. It is so romantic.
Except for the little fact that they've only known each other for about a minute.

Have you seen the '96 movie version? It's terrible how they change the ending.
It's just mind-blowing when you think of how much thought went into the play. There are things I wouldn't realize without the help of a teacher. I really like the play, but Romeo and Juliet annoy me as characters. I know that sounds strange.

Well, we're only in Act II right now, and we are watching some movie version of it in class, but we're even less far along on that.
Yes, I am glad we get the opportunity to read it with the help of a teacher. The person who is supposedly teaching our English/Lit. class is -I don't know-'apprenticing' a student-teacher who teaches us all the Romeo & Juliet stuff, which is most of the class. And that's a really good thing, because my older sister has this same teacher (not the student one) for a Shakespeare class, and she says she's not the best for that particular job. But the student teacher is fantastic and I'm really glad I'm not just reading this on my own.

We just watched the end of the 1996 version, and in it Juliet wakes up before Romeo dies and starts smiling at him as he drinks the posion (he hasn't realized she is alive) and then right as he drinks it he sees her AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO BANG MY HEAD AGAINST A WALL! ugh.

I know!!! That part made me so sad; I kept thinking about it all day. It's terribly tragic.

Now and again, yes.
I cannot remember. It was a while ago since I last saw it.

Well, this thread has seemed to die off a bit, so I'll go ahead, seeing as I have just started two new books: The shadow of the wind Electroboy Has anyone read any of them? So far I'm liking both

Hmm, I've never heard of either of those books. I'm currently reading Twelfth Night and rereading Goblet of Fire.

Well, neither of them are well-known I think... Electroboy was a book my brother bought of the internet, but it's really interesting. It's not a superhero although it sounds like it, hehe It's written by a guy who struggled with mania and that's his story basically. It's very interesting

I've gone into Terry Pratchett mode recently, I like his books for a relaxing read. I've just read Feet of Clay, Men at Arms and Moving Pictures. Someone's going to lend me Guards!Guards! soon, so in between that I'm reading Ed McBain, who is excellent for short, good police-detective stories that can be read in between two longer books.

I'm reading 'Measure for Measure' for Lit. Let me tell you one thing - all teh sex-talk was fun at the beginning, but is getting kinda tedious now...
I'm reading Robert Jordan now, 'Wheel of Time' series.
